7. Black Spot

7. Black Spot

One day a professor entered a classroom and asked his students to prepare for a surprise test. They waited nervously at their desks for the test to begin. The professor handed out the test, once he handed them, he asked his students to turn the page and begin. To everyone’s surprise, there were no questions...only a black dot in the center of the page. The professor was observing the expressions on everyone’s face.

“I want you to write what you see there." Instruct the professor. The students were confused and began to write out their answers. At the end of the class, the professor took all the answers and started reading each one of them loudly in front of all the students. All of them with no exceptions described the black dot, trying to explain its position in the middle of the sheet, etc. etc. etc. After all had been read, the professor began to explain.

No one wrote about the white part of the paper. Everyone was paying attention on the black dot and the same goes in our lives. We have a white paper to observe and enjoy. But we always focus on the dark spots. Our life is a gift given to us with love and care and we always have reasons to celebrate - nature renewing itself every day, our friends around us, the job that provides our livelihood, the miracles we see every day but everyone pay attention to the unfilled part of their life while it’s the reality and eternal beauty that we are different from each other, if others have those commodities which we don’t have then surely we have some things which others don’t have, feel that difference and clear your misconceptions, ups and downs are parts of our life which keep us going on, every breath is a new life and pay gratitude for that.
