12. God never lacks supplies

12. God never lacks supplies

A man who was the sole survivor of a dreadful shipwreck was bringing onto the shore by waves on a tiny uninhabited island. Shocked and alone, the man prays to God to rescue him from his dreadful destiny. Strange with survival plans, the man struggled to suffer.

Ultimately, he was able to create a hut to protect him and his few belongings. Every day the man devotedly inspects the horizon for the response to his prayer. One day, after search for food, he arrived home and found his little hut is on fire. There was nothing left but ashes and smoke. “God, how could you do this to me?” He cried. Busted and desperate he whined himself to sleep.

The next day, he was awakened by the resonance of a ship. It had come to rescue him. He asked the sailor, “How did you know I was here?" "As we were moving towards east, we saw your smoke signal," the sailor replied.

God is working in our lives, even in the depths of our pains and sufferings. We easily get dispirited when things are not in our favor, omitting that God is always with us. But take heart and remember…next time your little hut is burning to the ground. It’s just a smoke signal that attracts God’s blessings.
