19. Secret of peaceful Relationships

19. Secret of peaceful Relationships

Two families lived close by. One family was regularly fighting while the other one lived peacefully and friendly. One day, feeling envious about how peacefully and mannerly the neighboring family got along, the wife told her husband….Go to the neighbors and check what they are doing for their comfort.

The husband went, hid and began watching. He saw a woman who was cleaning the floor. Abruptly something unfocused her, she ran to the kitchen. At that time, her husband rushed into the room. Unknown to the presence of the bucket of water, he kicked it and water spilled all over the floor. His wife came back from the kitchen and said to him…I’m sorry, it’s my mistake. I didn’t budge the bucket out of the way. The husband replied, No, I’m sorry, honey! It’s my fault, because I did not notice it and did the mess.

The man returned home and his wife asked him if he know what their secret is. I think the difference is that we always seek to prove ourselves right, while they seek to take duty for their part. Having peaceful relationships means taking personal responsibility and fulfills obligations for our own part. Drop your ego and save your relations.
